DID YOU SEE IT ON BBC COUNTRYFILE?

The BBC Countryfile television program last weekend featuring Matt Baker and John Craven visited Heathrow to report on the new Biomass energy centre – the centre will provide heat and power to the new Terminal 2 from woodchip supplied by LC Energy.

The project was being conceived when I was energy manager at the airport about five years ago so it is great to see it is now up and running, and the airport investing in our future.

The program was first aired on BBC One, 7:30 on Sun Jan 27 2013. The one hour program is available on the BBC iPlayer for a few weeks.

  • See 7:45 mins for the clip which visits Richmond Park and discusses the felling of non-native tress and their use in biomass production.
  • See 27:30 mins for the report on The Terminal Two Biomass power plant.
