eCONSTRUCT – CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT

I’m proud to announce the first of our eFacilitator support packages.

eConstruct is for clients and construction teams, offering help with the people engagement part of a development project, to ensure a new facility is ‘user pulled’ and is effectively made for its CUSTOMERS, made for PURPOSE and made for the ENVIRONMENT.

Within our strong team of Associates and Champions, we have the skills and experience to ensure that the client, customer and building user perspectives are included when considering operational, commercial, technical and environmental strategy and performance.  Between Charles Brindley, Beverley Lister and myself, we can cover all the angles and help to manage project briefing and expectations through design, construction and commissioning.

We have the skills to do this well and align people behind a common set of goals.

When to use this service

1. For briefing – to make sure your project is ‘Made for customers’.

  • Effectively involving operational teams, building users and visitors.
  • Ranking the importance of drivers & design features, from their perspective.
  • Defining the project brief to meet requirements
  • Managing expectations through design, construction, commissioning.

2. For user feedback, to deliver and demonstrate the value – to make sure your project is ‘Made for purpose’.

  • Asking the customer is the one true test of success and ‘value for money’ of a building.
  • There are various techniques we use, often referred to as post occupancy evaluation (POE) such as workshops, one to one meetings (or interviews), questionnaires and ‘expert’ audits.
  • The key thing to remember is to ask about, and evaluate performance and feed it back into continuous improvement activities for both operation and design teams.

3. For an environmental conscience – to make sure your project is ‘Made for the environment’.

  • Providing a fresh pair of eyes to review the design for operational energy and wider environmental performance (e.g. waste, water, materials).
  • Making recommendations to minimise this future energy and environmental impact.
  • Managing environmental impact through the construction process and handover.

Why use this service

Working with different groups of people can be difficult when they have different perspectives; this can include customers, strategy, development, commercial and/or operations teams, or work between multi-company operations.   Often, the communication just doesn’t happen.

Bringing in support to develop a people driven strategy – that brings people together – can significantly improve performance, deliver better customer service, cut costs and reduce CO2 emissions and environmental impact.

Our principle of On-demand management makes sure you work with right people, at the right time in the right way.  Improvement comes about from tapping into local expertise and ensuring you only use what you need.  Our ‘eFacilitator’ services specialise in helping making this happen; coordinating people for energy, the environment and better ergonomical design.

This approach delivers results and it’s VERY cost effective, adding an extra dimension to your existing work.

We pride ourselves in helping to make it happen and delivering great value for money.

Our way of working

  • Become part of your team. We’re not your rivals; we aim to help make the team look good and to enjoy what we do.
  • Promote an environment of trust.  We are professional, but not aloof, with an honest and no blame attitude.
  • Focused on action, with buy-in and support along the way.  We translate strategy and best practice into easy action that really works.
  • It’s all about people and results: Local ownership and ‘Win Win’ approaches, Continuous improvement and ‘80/20’ – focusing people on best value.
  • We integrate ourselves into your culture, use your approaches and get behind your strategic goals, helping make them happen.
